heady greens
one of the things I appreciate most about winter in Portland is the fact that most things are still green
but it is still very much fall....
while i was outside freezing someone was inside making a cozy paper nest

the endless bike ride
Today Drew and I went out for a ride in the amazing fall sunshine. There is just something magical about the light when the season finally changes and you know it is fall, a season I welcome with open arms and a ton of layers, a time for tights and tea and pumpkin soup! And awesome endless bike rides!
The Roadside Attraction rules. It's sort of this fenced-in weird old house with an awesome patio complete with a fire pit and tons of antique trinkets and really cool architectural elements like old ceiling tins and oval windows. A great place for afternoon cocktails...
There are a million reasons why I love my neighborhood, these are just a few we encountered on our bike ride....
the patio rules, but the view from the inside is just as good...
My old friend (and Roadside bartender) Mike Floyd informed me this back room is haunted...
this light fixture is amazing!!!!
they also have an old piano you can play..
sadly, we left the roadside and headed down to produce row which is an industrial part of the SE that the train runs through by the east side of the river. There are lots of warehouses and factories and one of the best dance clubs in Portland (rotture) but I like to go down there during the day, look at old buildings and watch for the train and then head over to Sheridan fruit company, one of my favorite grocery stores
passing train..
some building graffiti
I love the red heart high up on the fire escape..
the streets on produce row are made of brick, it's so cute
the worlds largest cabbage!
